Applying for a JCB Card

Q: How do I apply for a JCB Card?
A: Send an e-mail to us at cservice@jcbusa.com or call us at 1-800-366-4522, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pacific time. We will send you an application form. Download Application Form is also available here. Complete and return to:

Q: Do I need to fill out all the information requested on the application?
A: The omission of information may delay the processing of your application and/or result in a decline decision of your application.

Q: How can I find out the status of my application?
A: For the status of your application, please call Credit Services at 1-800-366-4522, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pacific time.

Q: How long will it take to process my application?
A: Please allow up to 4 weeks for us to process your application once we receive your application.

Q: What is the minimum age to apply?
A: You must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Q:Do I have to be a resident of the United States to apply?
A: Yes, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen or resident (Permanent or Valid Visa status)and must reside in the following states:
JCB Standard or Mitsuwa JCB Card
California, Conneticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon and Washington

Marukai JCB Card (California)
California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington

Marukai JCB Card (Hawaii)
Hawaii

Q:Can I add a family member to my JCB Card account?
A: Yes, you may add a family member who is at least 18 years of age to your JCB Card account at no additional cost to you. Certain restrictions apply to certain card products.

Q:What is the credit limit?
A: The credit limit can be as high as $12,000 but will be at least $500. Your credit line will be based upon our credit evaluation. We will assign you the highest credit line for which you qualify.

Q:Can I request a Credit Limit Increase?
A: We require at least 6 months of payment history on your account before we can make a decision for a credit limit increase. You can contact Cardmember Services at 1-800-366-4522, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. PST. We will advise you when and how to apply for an increase to your credit limit.

Q: Where do I send my payment?
A: Your billing statement will indicate the address in which to send your payment. However, if you have misplaced your billing statement, send your payment to:

Q:Is there an annual fee?
A: There is no annual fee for all consumer card products. For details, please refer to Consumer Product & Services.

Q: What are other fees charged to the account?
A: For each cash or check advance, you will be charged 2% of the cash or check advance amount with a minimum fee of $2.00. If you are late on your payment, you may be charged a fee per occurrence. For detail, please refer to JCB CONSUMER CREDIT CARD AGREEMENT AND DISCLOSURE.



Billing

Q: What is the Grace Period for Repayment of Balances for Purchases?
A: You have 25 days to repay your balance for purchases before a finance charge on purchases will be imposed provided you have paid your previous balance in full by the Payment Due Date. There is no grace period for cash and check advance balances.

Q: What is the method of computing the balance for purchases?
A: The finance charge is calculated on the average daily balance, including new transactions.

Q: How is the average daily balance calculated for purchases?
A: The average daily balance is calculated by adding together the purchase balance of the account for each day in the billing cycle and dividing the sum by the number of days in the billing cycle.

Q: Do you provide customer service in Japanese?
A: Yes, our Cardmember Services provides customer service in Japanese, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pacific time. The number is 800-366-4522 or 800-FON4JCB.

Q: Where can I use my JCB Card?
A: You can use your JCB Card at over 14 million merchant locations worldwide. In the US, you can use your JCB Card at over half a million merchants. In your area, the list of merchants that accept the card is growing quickly. For a more detailed listing of merchants where you can use your JCB Card, refer to Information for JCB Cardmembers page.

Q: Tell me more about the JCB Plaza.
A: JCB Plazas are travel assistance offices that you’ll find in major travel destinations worldwide. There are 31 cities that provide a wealth of information and services including cash advances, maps and guides to JCB merchants, reservations for rental cars, hotels, airlines, and event tickets, and emergency medical assistance. In the US, JCB Plazas are located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Honolulu. For more information, please refer to the JCB Plaza & Desk page.

Q: Can I use my JCB Card in an ATM?
A: In the US, your JCB Card is accessible at ATM's with the Cirrus logo, STAR System logo and other STAR reciprocal networks. Internationally, JCB is a member of the CIRRUS and NEXUS Network. NEXUS ATM's are located in Europe. Also, your JCB Card can be used at all JCB ATM's, the UFJ ATM's and the Postal Office ATM's in Japan.

Q: How can I redeem my JCB Cash Back Points for my JCB Card?
A: Simply call us at 1-800-366-4522, and we would be happy to assist you to redeem your points. When you accumulate 10 JCB Cash Back Points (5 JCB Cash Back Points for the Mitsuwa JCB Card), you can redeem $10 in rebates that will be credited to your account. For more information, please refer to JCB Cash Back Point Program.

Q: Is the Marukai membership fee included with my Marukai JCB Card?
A: Your Marukai membership is separate from the Marukai JCB Card. Marukai members must pay for their Marukai membership fee in accordance with the terms of their Marukai membership agreement. For more information about Marukai JCB Card, please refer to the following:
